This Privacy Policy explains what data the BoredomOver mobile application ("the App", "we", "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the App you agree to this Policy.

1. What We Collect

We only collect the minimum data needed to run the leaderboards and the App.

We do NOT collect: - Your real name (unless you put it in your username) - Your phone number - Your precise GPS location - Your contacts - Your photos, microphone, or camera content - Health, fitness, or biometric data

2. Permissions the App Requests

Internet & Network state — to talk to our server and detect when you're offline
Vibrate — for the optional haptic tap feedback (can be disabled in Profile → Settings)

The App does not request microphone, camera, location, contacts, calendar, storage, SMS, or call-log permissions.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third parties. Each has its own privacy policy.

Google AdMob — shows banner and interstitial ads. AdMob may collect device identifiers (Advertising ID), IP address, and ad-interaction events to serve and measure ads. We have configured AdMob to request non-personalized ads only, but Google may still process the data for fraud prevention and frequency capping. Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Google Sign-In (optional) — only if you tap "Continue with Google". Google provides us your email, name, and profile picture. Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Our hosted backend (Emergent / cloud provider) — stores the data listed in section 1. The connection is over HTTPS.

We do not sell your personal data to anyone.

4. How We Use the Data

To create and authenticate your account
To rank you on global, country, daily, and all-time leaderboards
To let you share your record via your phone's native share sheet
To deliver and measure advertising (AdMob)
To detect bugs and abuse

We do not run any AI/ML profiling on your data, and we do not use the data for any purpose besides the ones above.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

Your account data is kept for as long as the account exists.
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing [email protected] with the subject "Delete my BoredomOver account".
We will delete the account and all server-side data within 30 days of the request.
Locally cached data (offline queue, settings) is removed when you uninstall the App.

6. Children

BoredomOver is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Security

Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes only. We cannot read your password.
Sessions use opaque random tokens transmitted over HTTPS.
Data in transit between the App and our server is encrypted with TLS.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live (e.g., EU, UK, California), you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Object to processing or withdraw consent
Data portability (receive a copy of your data in a common format)

9. Changes

If we update this Policy we will change the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be announced inside the App.
